A little prejudice goes a long way
A client flew in from Dallas and I was taking her to lunch. In our uber-liberal city, every corner of every street downtown is occupied by beggars and/or activists' crack brigades, with Greenpeace in the lead but the LGBTQ commando units not far behind.
Normally, it can be a bit tricky to get to your destination without being accosted. Normally, but not this time.
To every activist attempt, my client flashed a toothy smile and said with a charming broad twang:
- I am from Texaaas!
Hearing this, all Lovers of Progress paled with horror and took unsteady steps back, clearing our path.
When we were finally seated in a restaurant, the client turned to me and winked:
- "You know, I may be living in Dallas now, but I was born and raised in Massachussets".
