The Lessons of Queen Esther

The reading of Megilla takes all of eighteen minutes, sometimes more because kids like to create an extensive raucus when the name of Haman is mentioned.  I confess, for many years I listened inattentively, trying only to hear the name "Haman" so that I, too, can swing my gragger and produce as much noise as possible.  But recently I read it carefully, slowly, making no noise, only observations.
